About: For many students with mobility issues -- including seniors and people with disabilities -- a "down-on-the-yoga mat" yoga practice can be difficult to do. Practicing yoga using chairs as the main prop can be an ideal solution for this problem. Topics covered will include:
- ways that standard yoga sequences and positions can be modified to allow students to sit in a chair while executing them
- ways to use chairs when practicing various standing yoga postures and moves
- ways to use several chairs to make seated yoga postures easier to do and more accessible
- using a wall to practice "chair savasana"
- a simple chair yoga sequence
Target Audience: this training is ideal for yoga teachers and movement educators.
